Christmas In A Box

December 19, 2015

I’m currently in Nigeria, and this week I had the opportunity to join Slum2School Africa’s #ChristmasInABox tour in Abuja. This initiative was done to provide Christmas gifts and activities for children from Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps.

Nigeria has over 3.3 million displaced persons mainly due to increased Boko Haram attacks in Northern Nigeria. These kids (some orphaned) are the innocent collateral damage. None of them knew their ages. They were all so excited to play with balloons and to run around a park freely.

Moments like these remind me to be grateful for the opportunities and freedom that I have. This holiday season, take the time to give to those who are in need.
